Liana and Chris' Chill, Snowy Elopement at Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont

When we were having our final Facetime meeting last week, I told Liana and Chris that there currently wasn’t any snow in Vermont, and fingers crossed that we’d see some white fluffy stuff before their elopement the following Tuesday AND that the weather would cooperate the day of. Well, Not only did we get six inches or so of beautiful snow this past weekend, but it was perfect Vermont winter weather by my standards at least- upper twenties with fog around the mountains, creating the most beautiful backdrop for Liana and Chis to say their vows at Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe.

Liana and Chis wanted a low-key wedding where they weren’t the center of attention- so a snowy elopement with just the two of them (plus me, and my favorite officiant Greg) in the mountains of Vermont made for the perfect day. We traipsed around the nordic ski trails, found the most beautiful birch forest, visited with some cows, and even had a snowball fight at the end. I learned later that instead of a fancy take-out feast to celebrate their marriage, Liana and Chis opted for a cozy night at their Airbnb and made some grilled cheese sandwiches- my kind of people (they also have a dog named Arlo, just like our dog!).
