Hello! I’m Sarah.

I’m Two Of Us Photography’s lead photographer, and also serve as the go-to person for client communication, editing, photo book design, and more.

Founded in 2014 with my husband, Jeff Porter, Two Of Us Photography is the product of a traditional wedding photography education combined with years of documentary and photojournalism experience, with a big helping of artistic style and a love of capturing the most exciting moments in peoples’ lives.

Jeff and I met while both pursuing degrees in photojournalism at Rochester Institute of Technology and fell in love over our shared obsession with photography, road trips, and good music (we’re both big Beatles fans, which is where Two Of Us came from, as it’s a favorite song of ours). After graduating and interning at newspapers across the country, we moved to a quiet mountainside in Vermont, where we are constantly inspired by what we feel is the most beautiful corner of the world.

I am a second-generation wedding photographer who spent eight years apprenticing with my parents before I began photographing weddings on my own. Before becoming a full-time wedding photographer, I was a staff photojournalist for the photo-centered Valley News in New Hampshire for six years. I also continues to provide freelance services to local and national publications, including the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Seven Days, Vox, and others.

Jeff became fascinated with photography from an early age while looking at the prints his father made in their home darkroom, and began photographing weddings while studying photojournalism in college.

Although Jeff has transitioned in recent years to running his own timber framing business, I continue to photograph every single wedding, with Jeff joining in occasionally when he’s available. When Jeff is busy raising timber frames or spending time with their daughter, Lila, I am accompanied by a qualified and talented photojournalistic wedding photographer with a similar style.

Since I started Two Of Us in 2014, getting to know each client closely, capturing unusual light and interesting moments, and constantly improving the quality of work we produce has been my passion, and I’m so grateful to love every part of what I do.
