Sara and Jake's Fun-Filled Backyard Mini-Wedding in Mahwah, New Jersey

I think you learn a lot about people by watching how they handle big change and adversity. Over the past few months, working with Sara and Jake as they postponed their big Rhode Island wedding to 2021 and planned an intimate wedding in Sara’s parents’ backyard, I learned what absolutely resilient and FUN people they are. In the midst of job changes, moving apartments, and life changes in general, Sara and Jake organized the sweetest mini wedding in Mahwah, New Jersey that honored each of the people who were invited and closest to them.

Favorite parts of this wedding? The rock, paper, scissors game they played to determine who said their vows first, the casual attire that fit their personalities perfectly, the napkins Sara’s mom surprised them with that said “quarantined for life,” and last but not least, the wiffle ball game they played after their ceremony with some of their close friends and family in the front yard.

Yes, July 25th looked a lot different than they had originally planned, but the same love, happiness, and pure joy surrounded all these wonderful people, and it made the trip 10000% worth it. Also, we get to do it all again (and Jeff will join us next time!) in 2021!
