Jess and Steve's Campfire Hangout Wedding at the Inn at Manchester in Manchester, Vermont

Jess and I have a lot in common: we both grew up on Lake Erie, went to RIT starting the same year, lived on the same dorm floor (three cheers for Building 32!) where we met, and started dating our husbands the same year (2009!). So, because of all this, it was not only super easy, but a major delight to reconnect last year when Jess reached out about Jeff and I photographing her and Steve’s wedding in Vermont.

Over the past several years, Vermont has become a second home for Jess and Steve as they’ve spent countless weekends hanging out with their close friend and another RIT grad, Nick, in the Manchester area where his family lives. It made perfect sense to bring to gather their kin to a place where they feel like they can relax, stargaze, and fall into deep conversations.

The entire day, Jess and Steve brought their spirit to the day, which I like to describe as “chilled out yet perfectly organized.” They also brought their expertise to the event, planning the wedding side by side, and with little touches, such as the signage, escort cards, invitations, and program, all designed by Jess (and they were so good that I’ll be reaching out to her soon to see if I can hire her to design some new things for our business!) and the beautiful, modern card box designed and built by Steve. We had such a good time with them that I have a feeling we’ll be stopping to hang with them in Buffalo next time we drive west to visit my parents!
