We didn't have to stray far from our home to photograph Jana and RJ's wedding this past Saturday- in fact, the ceremony was literally in our backyard!
Jana and RJ are our dear friends and neighbors, and it has been exciting to see their wedding plans come to life especially in the past week as the horse farm we both live on- Silver Maple Icelandic Horse Farm in Tunbridge, Vt., was made ready for their outdoor ceremony and reception.
There was an enormous outpouring of help from Jana and RJ's family and friends- many of Jana's family from Germany arrived several days before the wedding to make signs, food, arrange flowers, and prepare the farm for the wedding, and RJ's family, who are from Tunbridge, manned the heavy machinery, drove the wedding shuttle up to the top of the hill where the ceremony was, and made the jello shots.
Jana is the farm manager and head trainer at the farm, so it was fitting that she, RJ, and their children, Finja, and Aleece, would ride in on horseback. Caeli, a close friend of Jana's who also happens to live and work at the farm, performed during the reception with her horse, Soldis, that she has liberty trained.
Guests enjoyed watching the sunset behind the mountains during the reception- held on the farm's beautiful outdoor riding track, then danced through the night on the dance floor!
We loved being able to celebrate- and photograph our friends' truly perfect day, and remember how blessed we are to live in a picturesque corner of the world.
